Coronavirus Update for Parents
On Thursday, March 19th, Governor Holcomb announced mandated school closure for all Indiana schools through May 1, 2020. Next week, March 23rd-27th is spring break. As a result, there will not be any learning assignments posted for students during this time. We are currently looking at how e-learning will be structured after spring break. You will receive a call with the information as soon as the plans are finalized. The Governor also announced that all standardized assessment is canceled for the current school year.
This week we had a terrific response to our grab and go meal service. It is my intention to continue our meal service to students throughout the COVID-19 school closure period as we understand this is a very stressful and challenging time for our families. In order to follow the CDC guidelines for social distancing and to make the process more convenient for parents, we will begin using a drive-through approach for food pick up on Monday, March 23rd. All cars will enter the New York Avenue parking lot entrance in a single line following a drive-through pattern to door 10 for food pick up. Cars will then exit the lot through the gate closest to the NH playground. Food pick-up will take place every Monday between the hours of 8:30 am to 11:30 am in the New York Avenue parking lot.
If you have any questions regarding e-learning, school concerns, or the food program please feel free to email me or your child's principal. All email addresses are available on the school website. We currently have limited staff on-site in the buildings so emailing your questions may get you a quicker response than leaving a voicemail.
