Weekly Update

Congratulations to our Seniors who won the Caught Being Kind competition last week. They have earned a dress down day for the senior class on March 1st for having the most students who were caught being kind last week. We are having a spirit week this week for the upcoming boys' basketball sectionals tournament. Tuesday is Pajama Day, Wednesday is Twin Day, Thursday is Black and Gold Day, and Friday is Extreme Green and White Day. There will also be a pep rally after B lunch on Friday. The pep rally will consist of class vs. class games and recognition of winter athletic programs. Unfortunately, the Sectional's Dance has been cancelled due to low interest and cost containment.

During Homeroom this week, students will be working to improve their PSAT scores through Khan Academy. Assignment Recovery continues this week after school from 3 to 4. English is Tuesday with Ms. Lopez, Electives and Directed Electives are Thursday with Ms. DeWald, and Math is on Friday with Ms. Reese. If your child received an Assignment Recovery slip, they are required to be there unless approved by school administration.

The Oiler of the Week last week was Anna Acosta. Teachers nominate Oilers of the Week by choosing students who exemplify our 5 core values (self-discipline, responsibility, self-advocacy, grit, and growth mindset).

There is a Family Engagement Night tomorrow, February 21st, from 5 to 6 PM in the cafeteria. This event is for all parents/guardians of School City of Whiting students. This month's topic is Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Education).

The Boys Basketball team faces Hobart tonight and Munster of Friday in Memorial Gym. JV starts at 5:30 and Varsity starts at 7.

Thank you for your continued support of our school and community.

Have a great Oiler week!
