The construction for the middle school 3rd floor and auditorium roofs will be ramping up. Cranes are scheduled to be positioned on New York Avenue and the school/library parking lot April 28th. That means there will be new traffic patterns starting April 23rd and continuing through May 17th. New York Avenue will be closed to traffic on April 28th. The new pick up and drop off patterns will begin April 23rd so we can address any issues prior to the installation of cranes. Parking spaces will be limited as we will have barricades positioned at bus stops on 119th Street, additional bus pick up at Door 23, and additional drop off at Ohio and Oliver Streets. Staff parking will also be minimal. Students are not to park on Oliver Street. Parking is available on Center Street by the Football Field and in the community free parking areas. Please visit the School City of Whiting website for specific parking locations and traffic patterns. Questions may be addressed to your children’s principal.
We do understand this is all an inconvenience, but the final reconstruction of the facility will be worth it. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
