Mr. Borsits is thrilled to take the helm as Middle & High School Principal at School City of Whiting, home of the Oilers, bringing 15 years of dynamic leadership and a passion for student success. His journey began in the classroom and library at Hammond High—first as a teacher and then as Media Specialist—before advancing to Dean of Students at Clark Middle/High and later guiding instructional excellence as Assistant Principal and Corporation Test Coordinator at both Hammond Central and the Area Career Center.

Armed with a bachelor’s in Business Education from Calumet College of St. Joseph and a master’s in School Supervision and Leadership from Purdue University, Mr. Borsits is a relentless champion of public education. He thrives on using data-driven insights to design high-impact initiatives, secures equitable resources for every learner, and mentors educators to strive for their very best. His core belief? Every choice must lift students higher.

Eager to immerse himself in Whiting’s vibrant, small-town spirit, Mr. Borsits looks forward to partnering with families, staff, and community members—and rallying the Oilers—to build an inspiring school culture where curiosity flourishes and ambitions take flight. When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him carving trails on a snowmobile, casting a line at dawn, or exploring waterways by kayak—and at home, he’s co-pilot to two rescue dogs, Mike and Doey, who remind him every day that kindness and community go paw-in-paw.
