As many of you are aware, our area will be experiencing a partial solar eclipse today, April 8th. Our 5th grade students that have returned signed permission slips will be going out to view it from approximately 1:45- 2:25 with protective eyewear. We will be staying indoors for recess. Please remind your child to not look directly at the sun when they are dismissing. We will reiterate this, as well before they leave the building. Students will be participating in a variety of solar eclipse activities throughout the day, including a live stream viewing through the NASA website.

Today's the day! Our holiday concert! The concert for the 1st, 2ndand 3rd grade starts at 1:00pm and the doors open at 12:45pm. The concert for the 4th, 5th and elementary band starts at 2:00pm. Families that have children in both concerts will be able to wait for the 2nd concert in the gym. You may enter through Door 11 on the New York Ave side and Door 8 on the Oliver Street side of the gym. The ground level bleachers are reserved for those audience members who have difficulty walking up the stairs to the upper level bleachers. As for parking, as this is a school day, I encourage you to park at the Football field, Little League field or surrounding streets as the spaces closest to the gym will be limited. The weather is beautiful today, so if you live within walking distance and the weather is not bad, please consider walking to the performance as this will be the fastest way to get in and get out. All of the students need to be dressed in formal clothes. For boys, nice slacks or dress pants, with a sweater or shirt and tie. If they have a suit and would like to wear it that is great. For girls, nice slacks or dress pants, blouse or sweater, skirt or dress is great. Due to some students not having dress shoes, if all they have is gym shoes that is acceptable, but dress shoes are preferred. After each performance, Mr. Pecher will make time for families to take pictures of the students on the risers. Students will not be able to visit with family members and will return to their classrooms at the end of their performance and will be dismissed at the normal dismissal time. We look forward to seeing everyone today for the performances!

A note went home in Friday folders with some December dates and reminders. This week is a short week and students are allowed to dress in appropriate wear for each day. Monday is favorite holiday sweater. Tuesday is dress as your favorite holiday character. Wednesday is pajama day as we cozy up for some reading and a holiday movie to wrap up the short week before break. Students can wear jeans with their holiday sweater and any clothing needs to be school appropriate. Happy holidays!
